Recently reopened to the public (only by reservation) the museum of the human anatomy in Naples, one of the most important in the world.
The Museum has some very interesting medical treasures housed in its walls. Their exhibits include preserved human remains in various preparations, including some revolutionary and lost ones. There are two specimens of calcified remains prepared by Giuseppe Albini in the late 1800s, a bust of a woman and the full corpse of a newborn baby. The museum also contains the petrified works of Efisio Marini, who petrified human blood, organs and bones to create gorgeous inlaid works of art, like a table that’s centerpiece is a woman’s hand fully preserved.
